Hebrews 6:19
“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.”
When people fail you or circumstances don’t work out, we need to remember where our hope should come from. We often place it in people, or institutions. We often idolize a celebrity, or even a way of living. Back when I was raising my littles, we idolized a parenting method or lifestyle. “I’m a crunchy, breastfeeding, baby wearing mama”, while we shunned those who bottle fed or chose to work when their kids were small. Sadly, some of that used to be my thinking because of the other people I associated with and allowed to to feed into me.
We need to be careful who we allow to feed into us. It can be toxic. While we can use a lifestyle to better ourselves, keep us motivated or healthy, we need to remember to not place it before God.
Today, I am remembering that my hope and anchor is firm and secure only in God, not in anything else.
Thank you Lord for the blessings you have graced me with today!
