Friday at Pearl Harbor

Then the next morning I had the best donuts or “malasadas” I’ve ever had from a place called Leonard’s. They are different than your typical American donut, they are Portuguese style donuts and I wish they had something like this where I live. They were fresh baked and warm right out of the oven. It was suggested that we try the original, but we also wanted to try the macadamia nut filling and the custard filling. They were amazing!

From here we took a Lyft over to the Pearl Harbor Museum. We had hopes to be boated over to Ford island to see the sunken USS Arizona, but the winds where too high for good conditions, I think mostly to cater to the elderly population who might not be able to handle it. Despite not being able to look down on the USS Arizona, the museum part was very educational and helped me to see the significance of that day and the many sacrifices people made for the freedoms I have today.
